Every time a hectare of land falls into the hands of extractive economy, indigenous communities together with the rest of humanity lose delicate ecosystems and lose ancestral knowledge which, is essential for the survival of  the planet as we know it.

STRENGTHENING ANCESTRAL MEDICINE

With the backing of Convention 169 of the International Labour Organization and that o the Declaration of the United Nations on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples of 2007, we exercise our right to care for the health of our communities  true to our knowledge and our ancestral medical traditions.

INDIGENOUS AUTONOMY AND SELF-GOVERNMENT

Our self-governments and our grassroots organizations are the expression of the natural laws of indigenous communities. Only with the construction of self-government and strengthening grassroots organizations, indigenous peoples can fulfill their role of safeguarding the territories and survive according to the Laws of Origin,  the Greater Right and Internal Laws.

CULTURAL PATRIMONY

In order to reconstruct the social fabric weakened by the armed conflict and to transcend the risk of physical and cultural extermination, we must revitalize the cultural practices and the ancestral knowledge of each one of the 34 indigenous peoples singled out by the Constitutional Court of Colombia in Writ 004 of 2009.
